Many of our patients come from other referring physicians, having been extensively evaluated prior to their visit. Because of the importance of an accurate diagnosis when determining the need for surgery, we carefully review all tests and historical information with each patient. This not only assures that the decision for surgical intervention is made appropriately, but allows us to educate our patients simultaneously as to why surgery may or may not be necessary. Since the decision to undergo surgery is such a serious one, other diagnostic tests may be ordered to help us decide what treatment should be considered. Those tests can also help in preparation for specific procedures.
We are fortunate to work in a medical
community that is one of the finest in the country. While our main campus is Swedish Hospital Medical
Center at First Hill (also known as "Pill
Hill" in Seattle), we also have active privileges at Northwest
Hospital and Overlake Hospital Medical Center. These associations afford us
access to many excellent physicians who share our philosophy of individualized,
attentive care and provide our patients access to some of the most modern, up-to-date technology available anywhere in the country.
We
evaluate between 1500 to 2000 patients each year, performing
nearly 1000 procedures yearly. Our scope of practice includes
most areas of neurological surgery, but we do not perform seizure
surgery, or care for pediatric patients. A list of the
surgical problems and procedures we perform follows:

vascular problems, including vascular accidents (stroke), and corrective surgeries
